For my most recent layout, I played along with a challenge from a new blog called Scrap Around the World.
They had a really interesting challenge, using both a mood board and a sketch:
And here's my layout:
I love sketches, so following that wasn't a problem for me. Even though I only had one photo, I used the other spaces on the sketch that were dedicated to photos as places for extra embellishments, just using patterned paper blocks as backgrounds for them.
Using the mood board was a bit more challenging for me, because it's not really the way I work, but looking at all the beads reminded me of a tutorial I recently saw online, using punched circles to make a really interesting border. I tried it out, and loved the effect! And it was really fun to put together.
I love that this challenge really pushed me a little out of my comfort zone. And I'm also really starting to love getting more messy with my pages, and I'm loving it!! It makes me feel so free :)
As always, thanks for looking!!!
