Last weekend was a nice change of pace for me compared to the last few weeks. My plans fell through, so I was able to actually just relax and stay at home for most of the weekend. This meant that a lot of crafting got done – including three layouts that were all based on sketches. I love sketches because it usually makes me process a lot easier and also makes me try things besides my typical page designs. I’ll just share one today and save the rest for some other time. :)

I decided to play along with two different challenges for this layout – the Thursday sketch challenge by Elle’s Studio and the WW1 (White With One) August challenge , which was to use white, pastels, and masking.

Here’s the page I made:

Most of the time when I scrapbook, it’s to record a story or memory that is important to me. But sometimes, I like to just a make a pretty layout just to play and have fun. This was definitely one of those layouts – I ended up not even journaling, which is very rare for me! I figured that I already have tons of pages about Venice that I’ve done where I talk about how beautiful it is, and how I’m so grateful for the experience. This is all true, but at this point it all seems kind of redundant to keep writing it on every page. I really like the way this layout came out, though, and had a lot of fun playing with masking, painting, and layering.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look. Be sure to check back in tomorrow – I’ll have my next set of free printables all ready for you!! :D
